Maxim Betekhtin is a Russian pianist and conductor, born in 1995 in Syktyvkar. He graduated with honors from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory's piano department (class of Olga Zhukova), and later completed his studies at the faculty of opera and symphonic conducting under Vladimir Ponkin. In 2025, Betekhtin was named "Best Student" and remained at the conservatory as a trainee assistant.

During his student years, Maxim established himself as a promising young musician. In 2017, he won first prize and a special award at the D.B. Kabalevsky International Music Competition, as well as fourth prize at the VI International Sergey Taneyev Chamber Ensemble Competition. Additionally, in 2018 he received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture of the Komi Republic for his outstanding talent.

In 2021, he founded the chamber orchestra "Laboratory of Caring Musicians" (RoundBach). In 2024, the orchestra presented the "Schoenberg 150" project, which consisted of five concerts marking Schoenberg's 150th anniversary, and premiered Herzgewächse op. 20 in Russia for the first time.
In 2025, RoundBach soloists participated in the inaugural concert at the "Kadashevsky" hall of the Tretyakov Gallery. Ensemble became one of the headliners of Moscow musical life.

Since 2024, he became a participant of the assistant conductor group program for the Moscow Virtuosi orchestra (under the direction of Vladimir Spivakov), and since 2025 he has been a guest conductor for the ensemble.

Today, Betekhtin is a trainee assistant at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, the artistic director and chief conductor of RoundBach, and a guest conductor for the Moscow Virtuosi. He combines his performing, conducting, and teaching activities.
